I used to enjoy flying but not anymore. What with the gestapo guards at the airports, less room between airplane seats, no or lousy food service, closed restrooms at the terminal the most travelers are in, sometimes almost on time service and connecting flights that give the passenger 20 minutes to travel to a different terminal.
We bring books, get newspapers at the airport terminal and maybe even pick up something to drink or/and eat depending on flight times. The reading allows me to avoid the chaos around me.

I made it to work but had to travel over an icy bridge. There was very little traffic though and I don't have to work tomorrow.

Re "But don't you Carolina folks practice driving sideways??"
I tried that once while in South Carolina. Also once while in Maryland (that was before S.C.), and again in Co.
Never really got the hang of it.

Yes, flying was interesting for me as well. We had a flight to San Diego via Dallas on Dec. 27... we didn't remember about the bowl game being played that day in San Diego and that Texas was in the game. It started out that our flight was delayed 2 1/2 hours because the flight from Dallas the night before was delayed due to weather. FCC regs require the flight crew to get a certain number of hours of sleep before flying again. So we waited at the airport, and stewed because this meant there was no way we would make our connecting flight. We booked on a flight leaving Dallas at 6 p.m. (we were supposed to leave at about 11 a.m.) and then went on stand-by. We did catch a flight out that was supposed to leave at 2:25 p.m., but, of course, it was delayed about 1/2 hour. The flight home was no better. The flight leaving San Diego was delayed, so we had to hustle through the Denver airport to make our connecting flight, only to find out it was delayed due to mechanical problems. We make it back to KCI not too much later than we were supposed to, only to find out our luggage didn't make the trip... grrr...

We got our luggage back at 12:30 a.m. Oh yes, our flight back was on New Year's Eve... Eesh There's no place like home... There's no place like home...

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...
On the bright side, it seems to be a light snow this time.

It are snowing out there. Is there a two week cycle at work here?
Lots of deer have been getting breakfast along my route to work in the mornings; that's unusual as most sightings have been in the evening.

I'm flying to Oklahoma City on Sunday. I'll be there for most of the next six or eight weeks on business. They had tornadoes two days this week.

"Howdy" from OKC. What strange weather they have here. This morning's USA Today said it was going down to 39 degrees tonight. It was in the 50's at breakfast and the 60's at lunch time, which seemed not inconsistent with that forecast.
But I came out after work around 5:30 and it's 82 degrees!
It's getting
very breezy.

Wednesday morning there was 2 to 3 inches of snow on the ground, with some flakes still coming down.
