Quandry! On the old forum once you signed off any topics/subjects would cease indicating new responses. That could cause a problem because if I had to run without finishing reading all the indicators would be off when I returned. I'd then have to go by the posting date.
With this new set up the blasted things stay on even if I don't want to read the particular topic/subject making me think there are new postings.
I'm wondering if there is any way to cut the baby in half so we can have a little of both?

Re: Suggestions
That's what the "Mark Topics Read" button is for.

What they said.
This version of the forum actually works the way the old version was supposed to.
There is no way to set it up so that it works any differently. Just mark the topic read, or when you are ready to leave the forum, there is a "mark all topics read" on the index page that marks every topic read for you.

Re: Suggestions
So? I have to click on that phrase ( it doesn't really look like a "button" to me ) to turn off all those little lanterns when I'm all done? Or can that be done within a topic/subject? Sorta' like "ctrl-alt-mash this phrase"?

I think that's true, Henry. I use it regularly because I don't read all the threads.Henry J wrote:Doesn't loading a thread already turn off the indicator for that thread? It does for me. It's only the threads one doesn't want to look at that need the button. Or labelled control, whatever one wants to call the thing.

QUESTION: Has anyone here seen DiZent lately?? Or did I miss something?
Re: Suggestions
The search function says her last post was on Tue Aug 15, 2006 6:33 pm. Her posting was kind of sporadic before that, but a year (well, 13 months) is a while. I dunno.

She never has posted much here, or on the xProdigy forum either. But we actually have lost a few people who migrated here originally.
