Who ordered that?
The airport in downtown Cleveland, too small for commercial aircraft, got special praise from Rock star Bono. He said he loved the airport because it was downtown and close to major hotels. He also liked the convienence of traveling the midwest US from there and used it as a home base during tours of the midwest.
So, of course, now they (local real estate LORDS) want to turn it into condos.

I use the CC all the time because I don't catch the dialog all the time; but my husband, who wears two hearing aids, never does because he thinks it's annoying.

.....But, Pa, but Pa.Xjmt wrote:Henry, why don't you switch to BONANZA on TVLAND? No stupid catch phrases (that I ever noticed) and at the same time the images of the film have been cleaned up, the color is brighter then ever, the sound clearer and they even have CC for those of us who don't catch every word of dialogue.

Bev H, That's one excellent use of CC. You aren't disturbing others.
I forgot to mention to Anne that I also wear two hearing aids and am to this day shocked and even annoyed that people think just because you're wearing hearing aids you now hear better than they. Oh, another thing. Hearing aids are NOT Universal Translators so people should NOT expect a person wearing them to hear much less understand every word at anytime ever.
Then there's the people who start talking to me when their back are towards me. They have no idea how much is lost in conversation when the face cannot be seen. Even my good hearing friends will stop a conversation until they put their glasses on.

JT, my husband can hear a lot better with his hearing aids. I can speak in a normal volume now, when we are in the same room. He still reminds me that he can't hear me when we are not in the same room, and I still forget. And he has problems in public because of not being able to filter out all the sounds.

Background noise is a big problem with aid wearers. I have two microphones in each of mine and dropping down to only one each helps to override the background noise by increasing the volume in the one mic still open. It works but usually gives me a headache.
Then there's telephones.
Pronunciation is a big problem also for me. I might be better off if I'd never left home but my wife is from one State, I'm from another and yet we live in a third. Between regional and ethnic backgrounds employing differing speech patterns I may as well stay home and read a book.

At the risk of changing the subject back to the weather...
I could have sworn somebody said it was spring...
Well. On way to the car from work, if I hadn't had my hands on the rail on those steps, there would have been a thud.
Second, there was a major scraping of ice from windshield and windows before could go anywhere. (And me with my light gloves instead of my heavy gloves.)
Third, while driving down the road, the windshield iced over while I was driving? #$#$#@
Gotta say, that's somewhat unnerving - had to pull off and scrape again before proceeding. Yeesh.

Winter here too, and we already had spring. Or I thought we did.

We are having normal spring weather. Slight wind (less than 10mph) cold nights (40-50F. yes, that's cold here) and warm days. (70s to 80s)
