I was there to see this on Saturday. It was very cool.
Actually, I had the chance to be in it, but I chickened out. There's another one being planned for April. I may make a bigger effort to be a part of that one.
Years......I mean years......back I joined "Hands Across America". At the same time....allowing for time differences, of course.......everyone, accross America, held hands. I was with a group at the Mall downtown. We held hands for about 5 or 10 minutes......and then went home. From all accounts it was succesful.

Well, actually, we were assigned a certain place to be and there weren't that many people. I'm not a fan of crowds, that's for sure........and was dubious.....but, it turned out ok.

You mean you've never noticed the panic on my face when we run into a crowd?

With the amount of cuts they have in the edit, it's hard to pinpoint anyone. But if you want to try...
Left of center, there is a column with a little girl in front of it. Go left one more and you'll see a blonde woman in white short-shorts and a blue tie-dyed shirt. She's at the front of my line. Behind her is a guy in a red shirt, then a woman in blue, then me. I'm wearing a black tee and shorts. First really spottable in the dance at :18 to :20, though you can see me run in at :10. Look for the guy with the dog, then beyond him, I run in from the left and appear a bit confused trying to find my "personal space" in the mob structure.
There was a bit of chaos in this mob. The radio station blasting the music had it maxed out and the sound cut out completely a few times. The first one was right after we started, and many people thought that maybe we would have to stop and restart, and it caused some visible confusion, which you can still see in the edit with new audio track mixed in above. Right after our first three turns, we then compress into columns of four. You can see how the columns come together sloppily and not all at the same time. That was because of the music loss.
Here's a raw video of the event, where you can better understand our confusion, lol...
The lady in front with the red hair is our choreographer Linda. The guy dressed as Church Lady Blanche is Randy, the organizer of the mob. The blonde lady in the "choir" right behind him is one of our county commissioners, Linda Stewart.

Wow.....looks like a lot of hard work. I saw you......I think....a couple of times. Never did see a dog. How many times did you have to practice?

The guy with the dog is an innocent bystander walking from left to right around 8 seconds in. I run in from the left just after you can see the dog. A good time to spot me is between 15 and 20 seconds. The woman right next to me is at the very left edge of the frame, in blue. To the right of her in the frame, you can see me, in black.
We had rehearsals on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday nights, from 7pm to 9pm. The Orange County Convention Center was kind enough to donate space for us to practice. Here's a Facebook video of one of our rehearsals from Wednesday night:
