Very good, Brian. She can't help but be honored and feel blessed at seeing what her influence has had on you and the rest of her students. She's quite a role model.

It was a really nice event. Many tears and much applause. I think about 200 people showed up. Here's a pic of me and Mrs. Rynearson:

Here's an interesting story from the tribute...

I was catching up with my old Guidance Counselor at the event, who must be in her 80's now. When I told her that I'm developing simulators, mostly for the Navy, she said, "you know, I operated a simulator in the Navy." I had no idea.

I knew she had been in the Navy, but not in simulation. She told me she operated a Link trainer in WW2. Honestly, that must have been one of the first flight trainers in existence. Edwin Link produced the first ones in the mid-30's. (See http://www.coe.uh.edu/visualville/linkhist.htm) And here we are 60+ years later and I'm working for one of Link's sister companies. What a small world.

I mentioned that to a friend of mine, a much-respected man in the industry, who is on the board of directors for the National Center for Simulation, located here in Orlando. He thinks her story would be a great human interest story and now he'd like to talk with her about her Navy and simulation experiences.

I don't remember ever having a teacher like that. And all my bosses earned their positions the hard way. They joined their dad's company. Didn't matter how dumb they were that automatically made them the boss. :flame:
