We are back online

First, I apologise for the forum being down.
What happened was that my webhost noticed a problem with the hard drive that the forums database was stored on, so they took the hard drive off line to fix it. Unfortunately, the hard drive crashed. It was what is called a hard crash. That's when the needle that reads the data actually hits the disk. It makes a big mess. They had to remove the drive and send it into a data recovery center to retrieve the data. That's what took so long.
At any rate, our database is now on a brand new hard drive that should last a very long time. :)

I have the :popcorn: , lswot is bringing the beer...so, bring something and let's party. :clap:

Just to let you know, there are still problems with the server that are being worked out. This weekend my be a bit rough with the fourm going up and down. If the problems haven't been fixed by Monday, my databases will be moved to another...more stable...server.
Sorry about all the problems. This time, it really isn't my fault.

Understandable........not your fault and thinking about moving, etc.
I did notice it ...site..... was a tad slow, yesterday (Saturday).....but, that could have just been my impatience having waited so long and all. :lol: Seems ok.....today...(Sunday) so far, anyway.

So far today, the speed is fine, but the database is still up and down. I'll keep a close eye on it, and keep bugging my host until they have all the bugs worked out. I did offer a can of raid which they promptly turned down.

You are all quite welcome. I wish I could take credit for getting us up and running again, but alas, I cannot.
All I did was fix the scripts to reconnect the forum to the new database as it's address changed.
I got this one back up first, then my other forum up, then one other website, now only have 1 website left that's giving me fits. I'll get it eventually. I'm just glad this forum, and my other forum are up and seem to be running fine. :)
